Her world was asleep

Her world was asleep and her vision never reached beyond the clouds. She sought a bird that could take her to the mountains, where standing at the top she could witness the chaotic world in silence, like a Bird.
.
.
One day The bird entered her cabin and perched lightly on her pillow.
.
.
'Let's fly away.' said the Bird.
.
.
'I'm in chains. But I do want to see what you see. Can I dream through you?'
.
.
The bird asked to be held firmly.
.
.
The next moment she was high up in the clouds. The abstract shapes that seemed enigmatic were all deciphered. From above there the mountain tips looked flat, there she landed and her beautiful wings tempted her to take another course of flight down the mountain. She crossed several trees and flew across a river, the hem of her skirt touched the river that created endless ripples. Flying across the meadow, her body caressed the tulips. Her laughter echoed in the valley.
.
.
Deep inside the woods she flew like an albatross, the trees welcomed and the tiny creatures stood transfixed. When she smiled, they smiled back and bade her farewell. The dense forest ended at a waterfall. She drank from it and took another flight upwards.
.
.
When dusk shone crimson in the horizon, the Moon smiled at her. She desired reaching out to it. But her wings had grown tired. She darted upwards anyways.
.
.
On the midway, the wings failed her, she was tired to excess and no movement was attainable now. She was falling like a comet. Her wings caught fire, feathers were turning red and skin was burning. Before she could flutter her wings, she lost them.
.
.
The fall gained momentum. Hope died, eyes shone heart thumped loud, limbs grew restless and eyes sought rescue. She broke out; the fall would meet its end soon. She spread her arms and prepared herself for the inevitable.
.
.
But then a shadow from above overlapped her bare back. A giant hawk held her from behind. Precisely at the moment before the crash on a river, the hawk lent her his own wings. The gravity was resisted and she was lifted upwards.
.
.
The Hawk darted upwards.
.
.
When she opened her eyes She was flabbergasted.
.
She witnessed the world from the Moon.
